INTERCULTURA'S SUMMER BEACH ADVENTURE
SPANISH CAMP FOR TEENS
Every summer Intercultura Costa Rica offers a Spanish Adventure immersion program for teens which allows adolescents to learn Spanish and immerse themselves in Costa Rican culture. In addition to intensive Spanish classes, our teen summer program offers a variety of fun, chaperoned adventure activities, which will immerse teen students in the local culture and expose them to the amazing variety of wildlife and eco-systems in Costa Rica.
Intercultura Teen Spanish & Adventure Camp takes place between late June and early August in 2 week sessions, with the last one starting July 27th and ending August 10th in Sámara Beach (earlier sessions are already booked). Teens arrive and leave on each Sunday, at Liberia International Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica. From there, the adventure begins as teens are taken to their host residence at Playa Sámara, where they meet their chaperones and Tica host mother. From Monday to Friday, teens take 3.5 hours of Spanish classes per day with our fully credentialed professors, who have been specially trained to teach adolescents in a fun, communicative and real-life context. Classes alternate between mornings and afternoons, and take place in our beachfront tropical gardens, air-conditioned classrooms, and on the beach itself! In the other half of the day the teens engage in activities such as surf classes, turtle watching, ecological hikes, cave exploration, canopy zip line tours, bonfires and music on the beach, Latin dance and evening outings, and movie nights. The first weekend, students will visit the famous Montezuma beach town, on the tip of the remote Nicoya Peninsula, and take a boat trip to Turtle Island for a beachside barbeque and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. We stay overnight in a hotel close to the beach, and students have free time to shop, eat and meet & mingle with the locals. On the second weekend, a trip to Barra Honda National Park provides a fascinating glimpse of Costa Rica's rich and varied wildlife, before the last night's pizza/dance party where they say goodbye to new friends.

Camp facilities include:
Beachfront campus with free Internet, tropical gardens, hammocks, study areas, football and volleyball on the beach, outdoor showers to rinse off after a quick swim between classes, and our friendly multi-lingual support staff!
The residence is in Casa Paraiso, located 50 meters from the beach, the town centre and several restaurants and cafés. Students shared doubles or triples, and all rooms have fans, cable TV, and private bath. Breakfast and lunch are eaten at the residence (famous for its Argentinian pizza and Costa Rica "casados", while dinner is eaten at a number of different local eateries.

Camp staff includes Two full-time chaperones (one is a native English-speaker, one is a Costa Rican host mother), school administrative support staff, Teen progam director, Latin Dance and cooking teachers, tour guides and Spanish professors.
